Copyright Meeting called off by European Union

A meeting between the Commission officials, European Parliament lawmakers and representatives from EU countries was canceled. The meeting was scheduled to reconcile the stand of different members on Copyright rules.

This has been seen as a roadblock in EU efforts to reshape its Copyright rules. This has also been seen as lobbying efforts on part of big tech giants who are against these reforms. Companies such as Google have been actively criticized over its stance on the reforms.

Earlier, Google ran tests to see how its news search would look like after the reforms are approved.
